No Tupperware For Me

I got a message in my inbox yesterday that a friend was having a Tupperware Party at her house. I immediately got excited because there are 2 things I really want to get from Tupperware. I don't know anyone who sells it so I replied and told her that there were some things I wanted and could I please order them even if I can't come to the party...

As I waited her reply I went online to the TupperWare website to find the item numbers and price. My dad has always had the big green (they are no longer green) vegetable crisper in his fridge for all the carrots, celery, cucumbers and what not. I remember it being handy because you wash all your veggies and then they are just there ready to eat. My grandma also has the same container and I long for one. This was the first item I really wanted. I have also been looking for cereal containers for the cupboard. I found some at the grocery store but they are so ridiculously large that I wouldn't have room for them. So I wanted to get the nice TupperWare ones.

Then.....I found then on the website and realized I maybe should have looked into it a bit further before telling my friend I was going to buy them....

I ended up eating my words and sending a email back to her along these lines......

"Well the cost of what I want from TupperWare is about the same as the swing I want to buy for baby. I can only have one or the other. I have a feeling when the baby is screaming because he just wants to be rocked and I have to pee or eat or do laundry I am not going to give a damn if my veggies are crisp and my cereal is organized...Guess I am not buying Tupperware."

~It seems like a pretty obvious choice~

Maybe I will check out Value Village and MCC, they sometimes have TupperWare there.

New Purse

I got a new purse for Christmas was Ryan's Mom & Dad. When it arrived it was the wrong colour which was a bummer. It took awhile to get all the information for an exchange and then for me to actually stop procrastinating and send it away for an exchange. The replacement purse..in black instead of brown arrived on last Friday. The cool thing about the purse is that it comes in two colours: black and brown, then it has a bunch of different shells that you can put on it. The purse is magnetic (earth magnets as to not deactivate credit cards and such). So you buy the purse once and then buy different shells for it to charge it completely.
I love this idea because sometimes you want to have a pretty purse for the evening but don't want to move everything from your one purse to the other. This way I don't have too. I just take off one shell and put on a different one. If I feel plain I can leave the shells off and just have a cute black purse.
It also comes with short and long handles which are pretty easy to change up. So, far I am loving my purse. Rawley decided I should use the blue shell for now and I really love it. I also have a pink shell and a brown one (both of which I have no pictures of at this time).
Here is the link just in case you want to check it out. http://www.michebag.com/

Rawley managed to survive the morning wait at the Lab. We arrived at 6:25am and sat there till 8:02. It was surprisingly pleasant. We played a board game, then we played Go Fish while Rawley text messaged back and forth to Grandma Pat. Shortly after he got bored of both of those a really nice man came and sat beside us. He was quick to make friends with Rawley and chat about stuff. He was also good at making Origami. He told Rawley that he was making him something and from that point on had Rawley's full attention. He made Rawley a blow up frog and a box. Some how that managed to take up just over and hour and a half and then we were free.

What To Do.

Tomorrow morning I have to go get my blood drawn for the Gestational Diabetes test. I cannot express how much I am looking forward to this.... As you can imagine I am not at all.

Better yet I get to get up at 5:45 and get Rawley up at 5:45 so that we can be dressed, he can be fed (not me because I am not allowed food till afterwords) and we can be at the lab for 6:30am.

Then there is the whole idea of what on earth will i do with Rawley to keep him busy in the lab for 1 hours while I wait between drinking the gallon of sugar crap and the time they actually jab a needle into my arm and suck out all my blood.

Now if I could just leave him in one of the drawing rooms and he could watch repeatedly as they stab other patients that would be bliss. Rawley could have a conversation with each patient and keep their minds off the needle. I have a feeling they have rules against that though...Something along the lines of the being a medical facility and not a daycare service.
So.....what should be do for an hour?

I offered to bring a board game with us so we could play, but he only wants to play crib. I must mention he does not know how to play crib and although I play well I do not have the ability or patience to teach crib to a 7 year old.

An hour is long time, maybe I will just bring our DVD player and we can watch a movie....

Memory Like a Sieve

I forgot a lot of things this weekend. It is not like it is unusual for me these days but just because I do it all the time does not make it any less frustrating.

I made a point of having my camera with me all the time to take pictures of the fun we have on our weekend. Unfortunately I did not take many picture of any of the fun things we did this weekend. Saturday we went out and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine with a bike ride around town. We had some errands to run so we took our bikes to the bank, then we went along the discovery trail. Rawley really wanted to go to the BMX track, but when we arrived the amount of kids there intimidated him a little so we opted out of actually using the track. Instead we headed on a mission to get some slurpees. Sometimes riding our bikes too close to town is stressful with Rawley because he gets distracted and had troubles following the rules of the road. However, he was exceptionally good on Saturday and we had no issues on our whole ride, which was about 2.5 hours long.

These are the few pictures I got while on our bike ride.

~Slurpee break~

~Cherry Blossoms are in bloom all over town~

After our bike ride Rawley helped me make dinner. He was in charge of the boiled then baked with cheese potato dish. It turned out wonderful!!! he is such a great help in the kitchen. I wish I had the patience to allow him to help more often. Usually I am too stressed and rushed to take the time to share the experience with him.

Sunday we cleaned out the car to get it ready for its big trip to Seattle this weekend and then we went down to Langley to visit my grandma & Grandpa. The weather was awful which meant Rawley spent the day inside whining about how bored he was. Good thing Grandpa & Grandma really love him to put up with that all day and still ask us to stay for dinner. A home cooked meal from Grandma is always the best food around. I don't know if I have ever eaten at her house and not over stuffed myself. The food is just too good.

Although we enjoyed out visit with them Rawley and I somehow ran out of time to go shopping for Ryan's birthday, which is today. Opps. I also didn't even remember that we had to go shopping until I woke up at 5:30 this morning. So, this morning Rawley and I got ready for work and daycare as fast as possible than made out way down to the 24Hour Shoppers Drugs Mart. We both found a great card and Rawley found a great gift. Somehow we still made it to daycare and work on time.

Oh and the other thing I forgot....was to put the clothes from the washer into the dryer last night. Both pairs of maternity pants were in there, all my shirts that are long enough to cover my bulging belly and most of my socks.. Nice!!! At least Ryan & Rawley left the house looking half decent today... I on the other hand....will not be leaving my office until it is to go home and get changed.

Then we get to go out for dinner and celebrate Ryan's 28th birthday. I am not sure who is more excited. Rawley because we are going to Pizza Hut and he loves it, Ryan because it is his birthday dinner, or me because I don't have to cook or clean tonight. Either way it works out well for us all.

Happy 28th Birthday To my Wonderful Loving Husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This & That

This is by far my favorite organized drawer in my whole house. I have had make up bags and everything is disorganized and I can't see what I have or ever find what I want. Then I went to just tossing it all in a drawer together. this was better because the stuff was more spread out. Yet everything was still a bit mixed. It was also very messy because the make-up comes off the brushes and containers and everything has a light dusting of some colour. I had had enough so I finally put a desk drawer organizer in my bathroom drawer and organized all my make-up. I love it. I think this is one of those times where, 'It's the little things in life that make you happy'. or possibly I am just really pathetic and obsessive compulsive. I do know that if every drawer in my house was this organized...if everything had a spot and everything ended up back in it;s spot I would feel happier.....Yeah that might be borderline OCD.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last night Rawley went to bed listening to The Abbotsford Heat game on Country 107.1. I can only imagine it was not a very interesting game given the way he fell asleep. I cannot tell if it was a boring game or an awful game though. What do you think?
~Why are your children always cuter when they are asleep?~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last night Ryan and I watched American Idol. I have always been a huge fan of this show but I don't remember the judges ever being this mean. This week I think they only liked 3 out of the 20 songs sung by contestants. They were harsh with their 'constructive criticism'. The one poor girl even cried. I still like watching it though but am looking forward to it being back down to a 1 hour show. 2 hours is just too much. I have other things I need to do at night like Yoga, Eat & Sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also had my first massage therapy session last night. The lady was wonderful and also has struggled with migraine headaches so she was very kind and understanding. She worked my upper back, neck and head last night. I felt a little tender when she was done, but also quite relaxed....Then I woke up this morning.... I feel like I have been beaten with a stick. I am bruised all over. I mean it actually hurts just to run my hand down my neck. I guess it is a good sign though she must have really worked out some tension... I also slept through the night last night... till 5:03am...without getting up to even pee.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I still did not get a chance to start my Yoga last night though. As I mentioned we watched American Idol...and it was 2 hours long. Tonight I will have to start. I am not sure how well it is going to go. I could not find a DVD at the library for Yoga during pregnancy so I rented 'Yoga:for the Rest of Us' I am not sure if I am going to be able to do maneuvers that regular people do, but I will give it a try. If it is something I like I will look into how to get my hand on a copy of a Pregnancy Yoga video.

A Ho Hawk?

This morning was much easier for Rawley to get up. Unfortunately I did sleep much so I was also up early. Yet, even though we were both up on time we were still running late. How does this happen? Where do all the minutes go in the morning while trying to get ready for work and (for the next 2 weeks) daycare?

As I was trying to finish up my makeup in my bathroom I could hear Rawley calling from is bathroom, "What about a ho hawk?" "Did you forget the ho hawk?"

I had no idea what he was talking about and in my haste obviously did not take the time I should have to calmly get him to explain. Instead I tried to ignore him at least until my makeup was done. Rawley is pretty persistent though.

Finally I figured it out. He wanted he hair done in a Faux Hawk. This actually worked out to my benefit because I told him that he would have to hurry and get his teeth brushed, jacket on, shoes on, and backpack ready and then if there was time I would do it for him. It was the fastest Rawely had ever moved in the morning.... he still forgot to put on his shoes mind you.

While doing his hair we had to have the discussion of why it is called a faux hawk. I explained that faux means something is not real or genuine, it is usually used to describe something that is an imitation or appears real. He does not have a real Mohawk because the sides of his head are not shaved, but his hair still looks like a mohawk. I used the example of faux fur. I explained that there is material out there that look like real animal fur, but it is not so we call is faux fur. He replied, "oh I get it like Faux Gold." Then I had to tell him that no in that case we call it fools gold. "why?" I have no idea why .. because we like to take a little bit of words from every language and mix it all up and use them at different times even though they kinda mean the same thing.

I am not sure when it happened. I am not sure how it happened but at some point along the way the questions Rawley asks have begun to make me look really stupid. I miss the old days when the question where simple like, "What does a cow say?", "What colour is this?", "Do apples grow on trees or bushes?".

Not questions like, "How many hours are in 50 years?", "Where does the stuff go that falls into the black holes?", "How do I become an astronaut?", "Where in your body is your soul?", "If a mom has blue eyes and a dad has green eyes, how does the kid have brown eyes?".... This last one I actually know the answer to, but explaining it to a 7 year old is not easy.

Celebration!

What a weekend. The Olympics have been awesome throughout but these last few days have been amazing. We pretty much did nothing else all weekend. Friday night I started watching the women's gold metal curling game at work. Then I called Ryan and had him put the phone in front of the TV so I could listen to the game till I got home to watch the last few ends. It was sad how the game ended but a silver metal for Cheryl's first Olympics ain't bad! We finished off Friday night by watching the men's semi-final hockey game.

Saturday morning we went to Rawley's last soccer game, grabbed some groceries and came home to park our butts on the couch for a day of Olympics. Between some skiing competitions I did have a quick nap but was up in time for the gold metal curling game. I was so proud of Kevin Martin and his boys when they got gold. He is such a talented skip and it was a great game played by him. Actually it was a great week. I am not up on the Olympics stats of curling but to win every game you play shows true skill. Johny Mo (third throw) was also pretty awesome. We wound down the night by watching some the the Ice Skating Gala.

Yesterday was a crazy day of nerves and excitement. All I can say is I am glad we played most of the game up at least a point because I am not sure I could have handled the stress of being down or tied through out. When USA scored with less than 30 seconds on the clock my heart just sank.

We watched the game at my brothers place. There were about 12 of us there and we were all so nervous. My head and my heart were pounding so hard. I watch a lot of NHL hockey with Ryan at home, A LOT! I really enjoy it and get nervous and stressed quite easily. But I have never been as nervous about a game as I was yesterday. We all wanted it so bad.... when Crosby scored the winning goal it was an unreal feeling. We all jumped up and were hugging, screaming, yelling and high fiving. Some of us were crying (maybe more than some). Even Owyn (22 mos) and Rawley (7 yrs) were loving the excitement. It was truly an amazing thing to witness. What a proud moment to be Canadian!!!

We finally calmed down enough to watch the metals being awarded then it was time to hit the streets and celebrate.

Here are some pictures of the celebrating on South Fraser Way:

~Theo was wonderful and gave Rawley a ride~

~Rawley had such a great time~

I am glad Theo was there because in total we walked just over 5 km and Rawley was getting pretty tired near the end. I am so glad he got to experience it though. It was awesome. What a wonderful way to end a weekend. We were back to Dustin's in time to eat some cold pizza and watch the closing ceremonies.
